Dental fillings
A dental filling is a restorative treatment to repair teeth with cavities, chips or fractures. A tooth with one or more cavities needs to get treated as soon as possible to prevent further damage and the expansion of the decay into the nerve and cause a root canal or even destroy the tooth
We use composite restoration (white filling) because it’s relatively inexpensive, aesthetic and takes little time to fabricate.
At D Dental Office, we do not use composite containing BPA (Bisphenol A), a compound hazardous to health found in certain plastics.
Dental crowns
A dental crown is a restorative procedure that replaces the top part of the tooth that was extensively decayed, fractured, worn or received a root canal treatment.
Think of it as a cap attached to the tooth with an adhesive. It is made of solid material that looks like a natural tooth and covers, restores, and protects a tooth.
Gone are the days when you need to schedule two or three appointments to try out a crown and wait for the laboratory to send them back to your dentist. Using the CEREC technology, dental crowns are crafted on-site at the D Dental Office to get them ready only in one session. Not only do you get your tooth fixed quickly, but you also avoid disrupting your work or occupations.
Dental bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed prosthesis that replaces one or a few missing teeth. It is made of artificial teeth, called pontics, fixed between two crowns, called abutments, which run from one end to another of the toothless region. Dental bridges are most often made of a solid structure, like zircon or metal, covered with a layer of aesthetic porcelain.
We always recommend dental implants to replace missing teeth when it’s possible. Your dentist will determine this during your complete examination and provide you with all options and details related to your case. Your dentist will also be able to advise you of any other treatments you might need, such as reconstructions or root canals.
Your dentist starts by preparing your abutment teeth for the bridge. Then, using the 3Shape scanner reproduces the exact shape of your original teeth and matches their colour. He then installs a temporary bridge made of plastic until your permanent bridge is ready.
Depending on how well your bridge fits during your try-in visit, a bridge can take two to three appointments.
